John Meletse – DEAF PROUD HIV+ GAY

John Meletse is Deaf gay black man from South Africa.  He was the first black Deaf South African to publicly come out as gay. A year later he was the first Deaf South African to disclose his HIV status. He shares his story in this video.  Video courtesy Open Society Foundations.

On Nov. 6, 2012, Minnesotans will vote on whether to change our state’s constitution to limit marriage to one man/one woman. As a Christian and Lutheran pastor, I strongly oppose this effort. This video is in ASL and offered for Minnesota’s deaf community to consider.

Austin Unbound Documentary

From the age of three, Austin knew that his female anatomy did not fit him. In middle school, he changed his name and began to dress as a boy. His family thought it was a phase, but he persisted. Now he will get surgery so he can breathe freely and finally, swim in public. Austin Unbound is a documentary about a man who is deaf and trans.
