DADT One-Year Anniversary

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal that allows hearing Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual people to serve openly in the Armed Forces in the United States. Our work in this regard, however, is not done. As the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force notes, “the full work of repealing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ in the Armed Forces isn’t over until transgender individuals can serve openly as well.”  Deaf people should also have the opportunity to join the Armed Forces should they desire to.
